Our Purpose
Our mission is to make our students more successful in life. We do this by teaching our karate as a complete discipline — mind, body, spirit — which, in addition to developing physical defense, encourages the formation of high personal standards and respect for fellow men and women. Through our practice and teachings, we strive to produce individuals who are positive, respectful, and contributing members of society.
Our Approach
The study of the Martial Arts is one of the few activities that bring together the energy of both the mind and the body. This school is oriented toward self-defense, not sport. We do not train tournament fighters — we produce no champions in the ring. Our purpose is to instill the philosophy and the skills that people need in order to stand upright and not to be dominated.
Practice of the Martial Arts at Rigitano's will enable a child or an adult to focus and concentrate on achieving worthwhile goals and to meet life's challenges with total confidence — conquering obstacles with the "Yes I Can" attitude.
Our Commitment
I intend to develop myself in a positive manner and avoid anything that would reduce my mental growth or my physical health.
I intend to develop self-discipline in order to bring out the best in myself and others.
I intend to use what I learn in class constructively and defensively to help myself and others and never to be abusive or offensive.
